a week of snowboarding

with my friends Nina, Julian and Gregor

january 7 - 14, 2012

We got up at 5 on saturday morning to start our 8 hour long car journey, with a very jam-packed boot.

We arrived in Chamrousse in the southeast of France when it was already dark, but in a good mood.

The boys were a little too excited to go snowboarding the next day. :)

On the first two days it still snowed a little.

We got up early and I spent as much time on the slopes as possible, practiced snowboarding the other way round and just enjoyed it so much.

Julian and me usually were the last ones on the pists of us four, and on the fifth day we had the most wonderful light.

One night we went ‘sledging’ with our snowboards which involved a lot of screaming, adrenaline and falling over. :)

(Julian’s snowboard decided to go off before he was ready, and this is where he ended up. :D)

In the evenings we played a lot of games, amongst others ‘Who am I?’.

(We were goggles, a dice cup, the stylish purple teapot I brought with me and a salsa dip.)

The last day was Gregor’s birthday and so I made pancakes for breakfast.

Then we took my slr up the mountain and took a lot of photos.

The boys were fooling around pretending to be kung fu fighters, we freaked out a little when we saw this photo because they didn’t plan how to jump at all and it just fits perfectly.

We packed up to do some more runs, but ended up at another beautiful place instead where we sat around in the sun and listened to music.

I took an entire roll of film in only two hours that day, and it felt fucking amazing.

We stayed until the lifts closed, enjoyed the sun, and Julian took these on our very last run:

And now I’m back home and I miss snowboarding already, but ever since I went to France I learned to love coming home from the best trips.
